The Torah tells us:

“Speak to the children of Israel and tell them to make tzitzit (fringes),

on the corners of their garments throughout their generations.”

The pasuk tells us that when one looks at his tzitzit, it should remind him of all other mitzvot.

Rashi points out the numerical value of “tzitzit” is equal to 600, add the 8 strings + 5 knots (which are on each corner of the garment) brings us to 613, which is an allusion to the 613 mitzvos of the Torah.

The Chinuch Says

The point of the mitzvah of tzitzit is to always remember all the mitzvos of Hashem. There is nothing greater in the world to enable us to remember this then to have the seal of our Master with us, and this is tzitzit.

Rewarded Each Second

In 1797 in Vilna Lithuania, it was the 5th Day of Sukkot and one of the most famous greatest luminaries of our world in the last 500 years, the holy Vilna Gaon was on his deathbed and those surrounding him knew that these are his last precious minutes. To everybody surprise he took his Tzitzit in his hand and lovingly, caress them and started crying.

The Vilna Gaon said these Tzitzit are so precious, in this world one can buy them with a little money and with hardly any effort one can fulfill the Mitzvah all day long. In the world to come The Vilna Gaon said nothing in the world can help a person to be able to once again have the chance to fulfill the mitzvah.

These were the last words for the Vilna Gaon. Clearly he was trying to impress upon those that was still living, the opportunities that life gives us that will never have again. Within life itself there are times that we have a precious opportunity that doesn't come so often every Mitzvah is so  unique every Mitzvah has its own special draw, a person can fulfill Mitzvot all day long through Tzitzit, but in the next world the opportunity will be gone."

 Kedushah To Klal Yisrael

If one wishes to make sure he is saved from a situation which is dishonorable, he should look at his tzitzit. The same is true if one wishes to avoid getting angry. One who wishes to refrain from speaking lashon hara and other forbidden words should look at his tzitzit, and Hashem will save him. A sick person should look at his tzitzit as a segulah to get well. Tzitzit saves from an ayin hara. Tzitzit saves one from sin.
